Monochrome

Last year we saw the likes of Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs wow the fashion audiences with their block black and white designs. Both shows and collections were truly amazing, mixing heavy prints with sophisticated silhouettes. And now as the designs sieve down to the highstreet, monochrome seems to be everywhereeee!

Marc Jacobs SS13:

Louis Vuitton SS13:

Some of my favourite High Street interpretations featuring the famous monochrome look:

Combined Faux leather coat £69.99 - ZARA

Pleated shirt £36.00 - ASOS

Faded vertical square dress -                                                                                                                             MOTEL - £35.00

New look block peplum top - £14.99

The high street has really stepped up to this new trend as I am seeing it in nearly every high street store at the moment.
I especially love MOTEL's collection of monochrome, they have a wide range and like the dress shown above they have took a slightly different spin on the black and white theme. Their prices are also really reasonable.

Although we're seeing it everywhere, I LOVE IT!

Life's so much better with a full set of claws

I've become increasingly obsessed with all things nails.
Out with the square and in with the clawwwwwwws!

The above images are my own nails, I'm kinda obsessed with painting them and making them feel fresh! If you follow me on Instagram you'll probably be bored of my constant nail updates ;)

On the nail and instagram subject I follow @wahnails . Some of their designs are pretty impressive. Here is some of my favourites.

On my next visit to London I will definitely be popping into see one of the Wah Nail technicians and getting some art to my fingertips.

2.Bowler bag - ASOS - £35
3. Spike hi top trainer - Jeffrey Campbell - £120
4. Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb - 100ml - £90
5.Lace cut out top - MOTEL TOPSHOP - £42
6. Nail Lacquer - MAC - £11
7. Bracelet - Tiffany - £225

Just a quick post showing you my wish list for January. I very much dout I'm going to get any of these items as at the moment, saving is my priority, booooo!

My fave out of all the items I have put together is surprisingly no. 3! I'm not really a trainer person, although my converse do get the rough treatment on lazy days but other than this I mostly wear boots and heels but when I came across these Jeffrey Campbell's, well, I have fallen in love. I love the spikes that transform them from a boring high top to an exciting accessory to spice up your outfit!

Short and sweet post today.

Bargains!

To me, this years sales, overall have been pretty disappointing, (which maybe is a good thing as i usually end up blowing my entire months wage in a day). Although here are some of the things I brought!

Checked shirt - ZARA
Originally £29.99
Brought for £22.99

I love checked shirts and I have a big collection mounding up in my wardrobe. This shirt really stood out to me as it's longer at the back and I like shirts like this. The material is also very soft and light and can be worn for a lot of casual occasions!

Top - TOPSHOP
Originally - £30(ish)
Brought for - £10

I brought this for a night out to wear with my leather look trousers. I've never been overly keen on this top as every man and his dog owns it but for a tenner I was like, 'WHY NOT!?' It was a spare of the moment kinda thing so I'll probably end up eBaying this when I can be bothered!

Necklace - TOPSHOP
Originally - £15(ish)
Brought for - £6

When I saw this Necklace I completely fell in love with it despite it being in the sale. It's so pretty and different and that's what attracted me to it. Apparently TOPSHOP do some matching earrings which I'm still on the hunt for!

Dress - ASOS
Originally - £95
Brought for - £47.50

I'm not going to ramble on too much about this dress as I have done a whole post about it. Although this was my best buy in the sales this year. And in fact ASOS sale really impressed me above all other retailers! This dress by Fairground really Reminded me of one of Alexander McQueens collections. Alexander McQueen is MY FAVE designer of all designers!!!

I hope you enjoyed this post,

My New Years Eve Dress

very belated, but Happy New Year Everyone!:)

I haven't posted in such a long time due to being at work for more or less every single day over the Christmas holidays boo! But I hope everybody had a really nice Christmas and New Year :)

I have dedicated my first post of 2013 to my bargain of a dress!! Me and my friends decided to go to Birmingham for New years celebrations and after searching and searching for a dress to rock in I came across this...

It's from ASOS by Fairground - originally £95.00 but I brought it for £47.50! BARGAIN!

I thought it was very different with the colours and loved the shape and design what with the small peplum and open back.

I teamed the dress with nude platforms from New look: £24.50 and a cream clutch from river island. I didn't bother with any jewellery other than my watch as I thought it would be a bit too much what with the impact of the colours on the dress.

Me and my friends had an amazing night in Birmingham, despite the blisters from the shoes!

I will shortly create a post on some of the other bargains and star buys that I purchased in the sales this year.

Again, Happy New Year :) And make 2013, YOUR year ;)

Love,

MEG XO
